1. Purpose and scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out how the Jics platform may and may not be used. It applies to every user of the dashboard, the operator application, and the customer tracking link, and forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. Permitted use
You may use Jics to:
- track vehicles your organisation owns or operates,
- plan, dispatch and monitor trips, and replay completed ones,
- manage operators, geofences, alerts and customer deliveries,
- verify handover via a one-time QR code scanned by the customer, and
- integrate Jics with systems for which we publish or grant integration support.
Use must be lawful, must respect the rights and dignity of operators and customers, and must comply with the agreement between the customer and its service provider.
3. Prohibited use
You must not, and must not permit any user to:
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate one;
- track an individual without proper authority — see section 4 below;
- access, attempt to access, or scrape data outside your tenant;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the platform except where allowed by law;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with platform security, rate limits or audit logs;
- load malicious code, malware, or content that infringes third-party rights;
- send unsolicited communications using customer tracking links or operator contact details;
- resell or redistribute the platform without authorisation; or
- use the platform to harass, threaten or harm any individual.
4. Tracking people, not just vehicles
Jics primarily tracks vehicles, but vehicle telemetry can identify an operator. Where you are tracking employees as operators, you are responsible for complying with applicable employment, privacy and data protection law — including informing operators about what is tracked, why, and for how long. Customer tracking links expose vehicle position to the recipient only for the duration of their delivery.
5. Operator app and safe driving
The operator app is designed to surface what an operator needs to know without distracting them. Operators must not interact with the app while a vehicle is in motion. Admins and fleet managers must not pressure operators to do so, and must respect local laws on mobile device use while driving.
6. Customer tracking links
Customer tracking links are intended for the recipient of a specific delivery and expire at completion of the trip plus a short window. They must not be used to broadcast a vehicle's position to anyone other than the intended customer, nor for marketing or harassment.
7. Multi-tenant boundaries
Each tenant's data is isolated by design. You must not attempt to enumerate, read, write or otherwise access another tenant's vehicles, trips, customers, alerts or telemetry. Discovered cross-tenant access — accidental or otherwise — must be reported to us immediately.
8. Security and integrity
Do not interfere with or compromise the integrity, performance or security of the service. Do not run penetration tests, scans or fuzzing without our prior written authorisation. Responsibly disclose any vulnerability you discover via the contact below; we will work with you in good faith.
9. Reporting violations
If you believe someone is violating this policy — phishing using a tracking link, cross-tenant access, misuse of operator telemetry — please report it to info@plamanengineering.com. We treat reports confidentially.
10. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including warning the user, suspending access, or terminating the account. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure before taking action. Suspected criminal activity may be reported to authorities.
11. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
12. Contact
